STRAWBERRY’S STREET TEAM CONTEST CLOSES AT 3PM ON 8/20

Strawberry’s Street Team Contest closes for entry, at 3pm tomorrow, Monday, August 20th. We’re finally getting a chance to post some of the great entries we’ve already received. It’s really great to see your smiling faces showing your Strawberry spirit and thank you each and everyone of you!

Here’s the tall skinny from our original contest post:

Who doesn’t love a contest? Strawberry is looking for volunteers to post our flyer for the upcoming Fall Festival, and that seems like as good as excuse as any to give away tickets. At 3pm, on Monday, August 20th, we will draw five lucky winners to each receive a pair of Adult 4-Day camping tickets to the Fall 2018 Strawberry Music Festival. To enter, all you have to do is print and post our flyer to your favorite public bulletin board and send us a selfie of yourself with the posted flyer. Every photo submitted, in a new location, counts as an entry, so the more flyers you post and photos you submit, the better your chances are to win. Please only post flyers where you have permission by the property owner and make sure that every photo is taken in a different location. Photo submissions will be shared on Strawberry’s website and social media platforms.

Here’s what you have to do to participate:

  • Open and print Strawberry’s Fall 2018 Flyer.
  • Post flyer on local bulletin boards and in public places, with permission from property owner.
  • Take a picture of yourself (or have a friend take a picture of you) with your posted flyer.

You can submit your photo through any one of your favorite platforms, as follows:

  • Via email, send your photo to info@strawberrymusic.com.
  • On Instagram, tag us by including @strawberry_music_festival, as well as the hash tag #StrawberryFall2018, in the text of your post.
  • On Facebook, post your photo on the Strawberry Music Festival – Fall 2018 event page at https://www.facebook.com/events/441534702946571/.
  • On Twitter, tag us by including @berryfest, as well as the hash tag #StrawberryFall2018, in the text of your post.

Please do not duplicate your entries on more than one social media platform. One picture submitted, of one flyer posted, is one entry to win. If you have questions about the festival, or want to buy tickets, call us M-F, 9-5 at (209) 984-8630.  Thank you for helping us to spread the word about Strawberry, good luck, and we hope to see you all there!

STRAWBERRY’S FALL FESTIVAL MAP IN THE MAKING

Here is a draft of Strawberry’s Fall 2018 Festival Map.  There are several new potable water stations that still need to be added, in the interior of the property, before the map is final for the printed program cover. In the meantime, you can use this link to get a good look at the new pavilion setting and improved festival layout. Check out how we are using the Big Bear stage, as a cooling station, in the big round tent, and as home of Amy’s Orchid Lounge. The Kids Program has been relocated to a nicer spot for family activities, as well as for the Revival, on Sunday morning. Strawberry’s Safety & Security Command Post is taking on a more accessible location. All of the aforementioned lines up along the main drag, which we are calling “Strawberry Way.  There will be several misting station located along the “Way” that are not currently shown on the map. We’d like to thank map maker extraordinaire, Steve Kenworthy, for his work on this beautiful rendition. The only thing that is missing and can’t be portrayed on a map is music being played while beautiful people are smiling and having fun. We hope you’re part of the final picture that unfolds in just 18 days!

R.I.P. LARRY POWERS

It is with a heavy heart that we share news that longtime Strawberry crew member, Larry Powers passed away last week, due to complications from a scheduled surgery. Larry was known for his disarming sensibility, capability, ingenuity, kindness, and humorous wit, in every circle he navigated. Freely giving all of the above, his contribution to the festival is beyond measure, over many years time spent on both Set Up and Brush Crews. There are many stories floating around about Larry and how he always had the right tool to make any job easier. His name came up recently as having solved a hard rock problem at last year’s Fall Festival with a Makita and a spade bit. We were wondering what we would do without Larry, this Fall, while he was to be recovering from the surgery and now we are wondering what we will do without him, from now on. We offer our deepest condolences to his family and friends. He will be deeply missed.

Larry’s daughter has been hoping to hold services before she returns home to Rhode Island, on August 18th, but it’s been difficult to make that plan because of the fires, so services are likely to be held later in January and we will share that information when it is confirmed. A remembrance will also be held during the festival by the Brush Crew, so come prepared to wear your Hawaiian shirt in honor of Larry’s signature style. Larry’s loved ones would really appreciate hearing your stories, of which we know there are many, so please feel free to share them here and we will make sure that your messages are received by immediate family.

THE RISKY BISCUITS RETURN TO BIG BEAR STAGE FOR FALL FEST

We’re so excited to announce that The Risky Biscuits will be performing at the Fall 2018 Strawberry Music Festival. Appearances by these local favorites will include a set on the Big Bear stage at 4:30 pm, on Friday, August 31st AND as part of the bill with John Craigie, at Amy’s Orchid Lounge, on Saturday night. The Risky Biscuits continue to enthrall audiences across the state, and beyond, with their unique blend of acoustic and electric styles of folk rock, outstanding instrumentation, soaring vocals, and wholehearted enthusiasm. We can’t wait to see them, and you, at Fall Strawberry!
