Sun Camp started in 2004 when Sarah Jo Millar gave us our name! Donna and Peter Thomas invited Sarah Jo, Julie Steier, Millie Millar and Gary Millar to the Spring festival. It started with rain, but then the glorious sun came out. We were down next to a small creek below Camp Wanna Waffle. After two or three years camping on the hillside near the tennis courts, we finally landed atop Heathen Hill, and our camp grew to include Linda Karinen, Sandy and Dan and Molly Howard, John and Taylor Millar, Anne Darragh, David Ford, Elise and Matty Ford, Dan, Margie, Zoe, and Dylan Harris, Kate Rider, JR, Zoe, and Duncan, and Chris Taylor, Ariell Ikeda and Anna Taylor. After the Fire, we shrank a bit, but the original founders are still going strong, with so many guests that it is too hard to name them.
We always set up the Jam Tent with our custom wood Strawberry Music stands, and table, tapestries, rugs and heaters. We have a new music book for every year we have attended the festival, and welcome all to come play with us, lead a song, or just listen.
