JUST A LITTLE CHARM

Artist Jen Packo is excited to share with Strawberry the up-cycled art that she makes in Bend, Oregon.

The material that she use for her products is copper salvaged from the roof of a building demolished in 2001. The building was constructed in 1965 and housed the local newspaper, the Bend Bulletin, for nearly 40 years. She makes all of her copper blanks to be stamped using this beautiful, reclaimed metal. She incorporates the techniques of stamping, embossing, etching, enamel and riveting. As each piece is handmade, there are unique variations on every piece. The copper also has its own color patterns having been weathered by the Central Oregon elements.

Pieces of the copper have been made into zipper pulls, earrings, necklaces or key chain/bag tags. Pasko has well over 200 sayings that she puts on her charms.

Just a Little Charm sets up a full workstation in her booth and makes personalized items on the spot. Her guests work side-by-side with her to create something special and personalized just for them. The happiness and laughter that emanates from her booth is contagious. Each small piece of copper brings joy and sentiment to its new owner.
