We’re so pleased to be able to share two of Mitch Third’s original songs, as recorded live at Westside, in Tuolumne. Mitch will be performing, on Thursday night, at the Fall Festival, with special guests Nina Gerber and Chris Webster. Having recently retired from a 30 year stretch as Festival Manager, Mitch is well known and widely loved. Still many of Mitch’s friends and fans don’t yet know him as the guitar-toting, lyrical wanderer that he really is. Enjoy a rare glimpse of this elusive singer songwriter in his natural habitat.

There was a glitch in our ticket system over the weekend and camping tickets were offline prior to the midnight discount expiration. So, we have decided to extend the deadline until the end of the day today, Monday June 26th. Call our office by 5pm today or order online by midnight to take advantage of extended early bird savings. Tomorrow adult camping tickets will increase by $15 each, so we’re busy working to make sure your tickets to the Fall Festival are a deal at any of our price levels. We’re pleased to share that Tuolumne’s swimming pool will be open, from noon – 5pm, every day during the Fall Festival. The swimming pool is located in a beautiful area for recreation situated right in the heart of Tuolumne, which is adjacent to Westside. Water recreation has always been an important part of Strawberry and especially so for the Fall Festival. Plans are in place to restore the historic millpond and once completed there will be a magnificent body of water, right at center of the festival grounds. In the meantime, Tuolumne’s swimming pool is a great place to take a mid-day break from the Main Stage.
There’s just one more day left to get your Fall Festival camping tickets at Early Bird prices. You can get your discounted camping tickets until midnight online, or by 5:00 pm if you are calling our office, on Friday, June 23rd. If you are planning to attend three or more full days of the festival, the camping ticket offers all access flexibility, for a lower price than three individual day tickets, even if you’re going to stay off site. There has been a lot of feedback about staying in Grass Valley and we listened to what to you had to say. Birds of Chicago was born in 2012 when JT Nero began writing for his vocal star-muse, Allison Russell. Both were accomplished singer-songwriters with notable projects of their own, Nero with JT and the Clouds, and Russell with the acclaimed Canadian roots outfit Po’ Girl. The result of their unmistakable chemistry is a graceful blend of Nero’s grit-laced honesty and Russell’s special mix of sweet, soulful, and simmering choral restraint. Strawberry’s audience has requested their return ever since they last performed, at the Spring Festival in 2013. We’re so looking forward to having them back for this year’s Fall Festival and hope to see you there!
We’ve lost count of how many times Tim O’Brien has performed at Strawberry, but we remember clearly that each and every performance left us wanting more! So, it’s a worthy and wonderful consolation to be able to announce that a Tim O’Brien solo set will take the place of the previously scheduled special presentation by Hot Rize, titled “Songs & Stories”, on Friday evening. You’ll have plenty more opportunities to see Tim and the gang throughout during the course of the Fall Festival, starting with the appearance of Hot Rize’s alter-ego Western- Swing sidekicks, Red Knuckles & The Trailblazers, at Amy’s Orchid Lounge on Saturday night. Last but not least, it’s Hot Rize to close Sunday night on the Main Stage and cap off the weekend’s festivities with a berry bang. Tim O’Brien is an accomplished, Grammy winning singer songwriter and mulit-instrumentalist, whose solo shows feature a wide range of original compositions and traditional arrangements, crossing genres seamlessly with signature flair. You won’t want to miss a single moment of Tim O’Brien at the Fall Festival and we can’t wait to see you there!
