DAVID AND SABINE JEWELRY

Contemporary jewelry with a timeless feel. All work is fabricated in sterling silver and 14k, 18k and/or 22k gold. David and Sabine Jewelry use etching and roller printing techniques are to achieve a wide variety of textures on the metals. They start with a brass plate which is painted and then a design is scratched onto the surface. This plate is put into an acid bath so that the design is etched into the metal. This etched plate is then run through a rolling mill with a silver or gold plate, which makes an imprint of the design into the precious metal. The printed plate is then cut into shapes that become the base for the final piece: ring, necklace etc. Accents are formed from gold wire and sheet are soldered on and a variety of stones are set in bezels to add color and "pizazz". As a final step, the pieces are oxidized and tumbled to bring out the contrast in the texture of the metal and accent the gold on silver.

Their work is unique and creative, a sense of sophistication and a bit of whimsy, a dash of casual elegance and a little feel for funky.
