Late for the Train is a modern string band rooted in the rich traditions of Americana, bluegrass, folk, and Celtic music. Influenced by artists such as Kate Wolf, The Wood Brothers, and Nickel Creek, the California-based group’s skillful craftsmanship meets tender harmonies and potent lyrics that grapple with the wonder, contradiction, and truth of living in the modern age.
“Late for the Train is the real deal; the whole package.” — The Ark of Music
Infused with the honest depth of the coastal redwood forests of Northern California, the band released their second studio album, The Flowers of Yesteryear, in April of 2024, with a third album forthcoming in 2025.
The core ensemble consists of songwriters and multi-instrumentalists David Pascoe (guitar), Laura Benson (fiddle), Thom Beneduci (upright bass), and Bud Dillard (mandolin).
Late for the Train arrives at the Strawberry Main Stage on Saturday, October 18 at 12:30 pm. Listen and learn more here!
