We’re happy to share news about three remarkable acts that will be joining us in 2018, to kick off the first round of lineup announcements for the Spring Festival.
After 30 years of friendship and mutual admiration, folk music legends Dave Alvin and Jimmie Dale Gilmore just recently began to play music together. When they partnered up and hit the road, earlier in 2017, the pairing of shared musical roots revealed a wonderful chemistry between the two. Inspired by these performances, they decided to make a record and will be appearing at Strawberry with a full band, as one of the first stops on next year’s tour to celebrate their first joint recording.
The Revelers, founding members of the Red Stick Ramblers and The Pine Leaf Boys, have joined together to form a Louisiana super-group which combines swamp-pop, Cajun, country, blues and zydeco into a powerful tonic of roots music. From the Main Stage to a varietal smorgeous board of workshop presentations, their signature recipe for good times boils down to a gathering of the ingredients on hand, steeped in culture, spiced by way of life, prepared lovingly to joyous music and shared robustly among neighbors and friends.
Duo Quartet featuring Chris Webster, Nina Gerber and Pam Delgada, Jeri Jones is a joining of musical forces and festival favorites. Pam Delgado and Jeri Jones of Blame Sally return to their roots in performance ranging from mournfully sweet love songs to blazing acoustic soul. Chris Webster and Nina Gerber are well known to music fans for their sublime blend of Webster’s compelling voice and Gerber’s masterful guitar work. As a duo-quartet they’ll each be doing their own “thang” AND mixing it up for some dueling guitar jams and three part harmonies.
The Spring Festival is already shaping up to be a delightfully eclectic merging of talents, so stay tuned for more exciting lineup announcements coming in December and January!
