WHAT IS “THE STRAWBERRY WAY”?

The Strawberry Way is kindness, cooperation, consideration, collaboration, and inclusivity. The Strawberry Way is our festival ethos.

Strawberry is a multi-generational community of music lovers. Settling in and living a family-friendly camp life for multiple days guided by The Strawberry Way is what allows so much of the magic to happen.

WHAT SHOULD I KNOW ABOUT CAMPING ON SITE?

Your camping ticket grants you access to the festival and dry camping with any size or type of vehicle, tent, RV, etc., for ONE person.

The Nevada County Fairgrounds is a beautiful outdoor venue. Set on nearly 100 acres of meadow and conifer forest, there is a lot of great space to camp, for groups large and small, as well as nice scenery to explore. Camping is made comfortable by the gentle terrain and amenities which include easy access to potable water, permanent restrooms, shower facilities, and garbage, recycle, & compost service. Numerous trails and paved roadways make it easy to get around. Weather can be unpredictable at the 2500′ elevation, so it is best to be prepared for any kind of weather. See our What Should I Pack? suggestions below for a complete inventory of items to make the most of your camp experience.

Camping guidelines can be found below.

WHERE CAN I CAMP?

Camping is first come, first served. Please find a map of the Nevada County Fairgrounds here.

Please be considerate of others and park extra cars in one of the designated parking areas. Do not park unneeded vehicles on nice ground for camping.

As campers arrive throughout the festival, please make them feel welcome and make space for newcomers in your neighborhood. Saving space is not allowed. Please use only the space necessary for your group.

Staff is available to help you find a place to camp. Just ask for Camping Assistance when you arrive. If you need access to ADA-Compliant Camping, please reach out to us at info@strawberrymusic.com.

The Stroll Seating Area is at the front of the Music Meadow between the stage and the sound tower. All seating behind the sound tower is open and not considered Stroll Seating. The Stroll is only for those wishing to secure a seat in the front area of the Music Meadow.

Due to the timing of the Stroll on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, only attendees with camping tickets are eligible to participate. 1-Day ticket holders are eligible to participate in the Stroll on Thursday. All attendees are welcome to place their chairs when the Music Meadow opens.

More information about the Strawberry Stroll is available onsite.

HOW DOES STRAWBERRY HELP THE ENVIRONMENT?

From offering festival-wide recycling services and working to eliminate the internal use of single-use plastic, we are always working to make Strawberry more environmentally sustainable.

Compost: We offer compost bins to dispose of green waste! There are 5 different stations, and station locations can be found on the festival map. Please refer to the signage at each station regarding what can and cannot be placed in compost bins. Unfortunately, items such as compostable bags and cutlery are NOT accepted as compost by Waste Management.

Please also refer to the graphic here for information on what is accepted (Organics). We are unable to sort compost at this time, so please help us keep bins from being contaminated with unacceptable materials and sent to the landfill. If you are not sure an item can go into the bins, please err on the side of caution. Let’s work together to ensure this service is successful!

Water Conservation: Showers are available, and locations are marked on the festival map (below and included with your gate program handout). The Nevada County Fairgrounds has an adequate water supply, but due to extreme drought conditions in California, it is very important to conserve water. Please read the posted signs and observe the “Strawberry 3-Minute Shower.”

Recycle: Over the years, Strawberry has developed a comprehensive recycling program intended to decrease the amount of trash entering landfills. We continue to evaluate additional options and evolve our recycling program. Please make use of all of the recycling options available and, wherever possible, keep your mug, plate, and utensils for reuse during the festival. Thank you for your work and for incorporating recycling into your daily routine.

Re-Use: We are eliminating the sale of and internal utilization of single-use plastics at the festival and need your help to make this happen. Bring your own plate, cutlery, cup, and/or water bottle for in camp and at the Food Court. There are filling stations, drinking fountains, and potable water spigots throughout the camp.

HOW DO I GET TO THE FESTIVAL?

The Nevada County Fairgrounds is located at 11228 McCourtney Rd, Grass Valley, CA 95949.

IS THERE CELL SERVICE or WIFI ON SITE?

While we hope that you choose to unplug at the festival, most cell phones do have coverage at the Fairgrounds. We do not currently have WiFi for guests enabled.

Please be considerate of others, as well as performers, and turn off your phone while in performance seating areas. You may take photos, but please disable the flash and distracting lights.

Please note we have a team of photographers, as well as a social media person, who take photos and/or video during sets. Please be aware and respectful of our team.

TICKET FAQ

HOW WILL I GET MY TICKETS?

Tickets will be sent to the email provided at checkout. Please double-check your email address is correct before finalizing your purchase.

DO I NEED TICKETS FOR EACH MEMBER OF MY GROUP?

Yes, Camping and 1-Day tickets are priced per person. Each attendee over the age of 12 needs their own ticket.

WHAT DOES A TICKET INCLUDE?

A Camping ticket includes entry to the Festival and dry camping with any size/type of vehicle for ONE person. A 1-Day ticket includes entry to the Festival for the respective day for ONE person. ALL tickets include parking.

ALL tickets to the Festival include entry to the Fairgrounds and access to the Music Meadow (where the Main Stage and Artisan Tent are located), the Forest Amphitheater (where the Play Stage and Kid’s Arts & Crafts are located), the Food Court, the Campgrounds, etc. for the specified amount of time associated with your ticket type.

WHAT IS PRE-BANDING?

Pre-banding is for 5-Day/5-Night Camping ticket holders ONLY. If you do not have one of these camping tickets for the respective festival, you will not participate in the pre-banding process.

Pre-banding is the process for 5-Day/5-Night Camping ticket holders where we band (i.e., put wristbands on) all campers who arrive at the specified times on Wednesday. This process prevents unscheduled delays, hold-ups, and unsafe traffic jams for the Strawberrians expected to arrive simultaneously.

Please review the Entrance Plan here for more information.

WHEN CAN I ARRIVE AT THE FESTIVAL?

On Wednesday, pre-banding begins at the earlier ARRIVAL time (i.e., 11:30am or 2:30pm), while your ENTRY time (i.e., 1:00pm or 4:00pm) indicates when we will release attendees to enter the Fairgrounds. Entry on Thursday-Sunday is anytime after your listed arrival time (e.g., 8:00am on Friday for 3-Day Camping ticket holders AND Friday 1-Day ticket holders). Please arrive anytime AFTER the listed Arrival time.

Please note: The only difference between the Day and Night camping ticket types is your arrival/entry time. Please read the fine print beneath the different ticket types on the Ticket page here.

WHEN WILL SINGLE DAY TICKETS GO ON SALE?

We will announce the on-sale date for single day tickets early next year.

WHEN WILL RV HOOK-UP SITES GO ON SALE?

RV/Vehicle Hook-Up sites are an additional charge. Please see the RV Information page for more details.
