Led by acclaimed singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Darrell Scott, the ensemble brings together a world class lineup of acoustic musicians whose collective artistry elevates Scott’s evocative songs into something both timeless and boldly present.
The String Band features Grammy winning Dobro master Rob Ickes, one of the most decorated instrumentalists in bluegrass. Anchoring the low end is Bryn Davies, a powerhouse bassist and vocalist whose rock solid groove, rich bass textures, and harmony vocals provide both drive and subtlety. Widely regarded as one of the premier mandolinists in modern acoustic music, Mandolin and banjo virtuoso Matt Flinner adds precision, invention, and compositional depth. On fiddle and harmony vocals, Shad Cobb brings a soulful, old-time rooted intensity marked by fiery bow work and deep traditional feel.
