What To Pack

Camping Gear

  • Tent
  • Warm Sleeping Bag
  • Sleeping pad
  • Flashlight
  • Camp Stove
  • Camp Lantern
  • Folding Camp Table
  • Camp Chairs (Many people bring one for Music Meadow and another for back at camp. Remember that chairs at Music Meadow must be under 32" tall with the back fully upright, and back of the seat must be under 10")
  • Tarp (To sit on at Music Meadow - behind the Strawberry Tarp only - and very handy in case of inclement weather)
  • Water Jug (Handy to carry water back to camp from the spigots scattered around the camping area)

For Kids

  • Bikes (Don't forget helmets! Also, note that mounted lights are required for riding after dark)
  • Wagon (Very handy for hauling gear around and sleeping kids back from music meadow.)
  • Sand toys (For playing on the Birch Lake beach)
  • Glow sticks and necklaces (Fun for the kids and it makes tracking them after dark far easier) (Also available for sale at the Strawberry “Preserves”)

Other Items

  • Mounted bicycle light for night-riding
  • Portable FM Radio (For listening to Hog Ranch Radio)
  • Clothing for warm days and cool nights (warm jacket, extra socks, etc.)
  • Rain gear (Just in case!)
  • Soap and Towels (showers in restrooms)
  • Suntan lotion (The sun can be very strong in the mountains)
  • Sun hat
  • Swim Suit
  • Ear plugs (In case you have trouble sleeping due to after hours "jamming".)
  • Musical Instruments (There are many opportunities to jam with your friends and neighbors)
  • Plastic Cup or Container for Drinks at Music Meadow (No glass is allowed on the meadow)
